Methodology · Scoring criteria

How we calculate your global rank

A transparent scoring system based on trusted economic data from international institutions, designed to estimate your spot among Earth's people as fairly and accurately as possible.

Global rank

Your spot among ~8 billion people on Earth, based on all criteria combined.

Country rank

How your score compares against people in your country only — useful to see your local standing.

Age-group rank

A fair comparison with people at the same stage of their career and financial life.

Core Criteria

The core scoring criteria

Five core dimensions weighted thoughtfully to produce your final score on a 0 to 10,000 scale.

Criterion 1

Annual income

Your position is estimated against the income distribution in your country and worldwide.

  • We compare your income to your country's median household income.
  • Then to the global average income after currency normalization.
  • We factor in inequality in each country so the estimate stays fair.

Criterion 2

Net worth

Total assets you own after subtracting debts and obligations.

  • Includes cash, investments, real estate, vehicles, and digital assets.
  • Debts (loans, mortgages, credit cards) are subtracted for net worth.
  • Compared against the wealth distribution in your country and worldwide.

Criterion 3

Cost of living (PPP)

A purchasing-power adjustment between countries to make the comparison fair.

  • $1,000 in a low-cost country isn't equal to $1,000 in a high-cost country.
  • We use PPP coefficients from the World Bank and the IMF.
  • This produces a fairer ranking regardless of country.

Criterion 4

Age group

A fair estimate that accounts for where someone is in their career journey.

  • A 50-year-old is expected to have higher income and wealth than a 25-year-old.
  • We compare you to peers in your age group and your geographic region.
  • We use life-cycle wealth curves specific to each world region.

Criterion 5

Career path

A small adjustment based on the nature of your work and primary income source.

  • Employee, founder, investor, or freelancer — each has a different curve.
  • We use this factor to improve estimate accuracy, not to arbitrarily inflate or deflate values.

Data sources

We rely on open, trusted data from the world's leading economic institutions:

  • World Bank — income averages and purchasing-power coefficients.
  • International Monetary Fund (IMF) — macroeconomic indicators.
  • OECD — wealth and household-income distribution.
  • Global wealth reports from independent research organizations.
  • United Nations (UN) statistics — population and age groups by region.

Privacy & transparency

  • Your financial data isn't shown publicly. It's only used to compute your rank on the fly.
  • The rank is an estimate based on statistical models, not an absolute measure.
  • Economic databases are updated annually with automatic inflation adjustments.
  • We continuously evolve the scoring formula to improve accuracy and fairness across countries.

Your rank is an estimate for informational and entertainment purposes, and is not a formal financial or legal assessment. Each ranking depends on the data the user enters and how accurate it is.
